CHS Initiates Second Research Project with Georgia Tech to Optimize Workplace Health Clinics
Evidence Based Study Addresses Techniques and
Technology for Clinics of the Future
RESTON, VA. – December 7, 2009 – Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. (CHS) a leading national workforce health management company specializing in onsite health care solutions, announces a new strategic alliance with Georgia Tech in an ongoing relationship to optimize care and cost at workplace health clinics. The new comprehensive study follows a recent partnership with Georgia Tech on CHS’ highly successful Workforce Health Assessment Model (WHAM) to reduce employer health care costs through data analytics. The announcement was made by CHS’ CEO Mel Hall.
“As Americans brace for winter and the flu season, employers brace for the inevitable increase in onsite health center visits,” Hall said. “Even though clinics are traditionally used to treat injuries in industrial and institutional settings, recent years have seen a significant shift of focus toward expanding health and productivity programs and managing employee illness. This new research study will engage the critical elements of patient centered and evidence based design principles to provide new standards of practice in primary care and screening,” Hall said.
Existing data, case studies and best practice examples in a variety of workplace settings are currently being studied. An invitational open house is scheduled for December 10, 2009 at Georgia Tech. Nine design/build projects developed in the College’s multidisciplinary Onsite Health Center of the Future program will be presented. Students from Georgia Tech’s Health Systems Institute and College of Architecture will be present to demonstrate their projects. Disciplines represented include industrial design, architecture, building construction, digital media, health systems, human-computer interaction, computer science, and systems engineering.
